Sustainability Manager

Wanderlust is fully committed to minimizing our impact and being good stewards of the environment. As Wanderlust’s seasonal Greening Manager, you will be hands on at our events managing the sustainability program, training our green-team volunteers, educating our attendees, and coming up with innovative solutions to keep our environmental footprint to a minimum.

 

About the Position

We are striving towards the goal of having a zero-waste festival. Our program currently includes organic waste composting and recycling as well as required compostable food serviceware by our food and beverage vendors and partners. Styrofoam and non-recyclable plastic utensils are not permitted at the festival. We've adopted the motto of "Leave No Trace" and assist our vendors and sponsors in doing so in their activations. You'll help record our diversion metrics to track our progress and to make improvements towards greener events.

Responsibilities

  • Educate vendors and sponsors on Wanderlust greening policies, ensuring compliance.
  • Coordinate waste management needs across all departments for the events.
  • Be the main contact on site for the Event and Operations Manager on items related to greening & waste management.
  • In some cases source sustainable products for food and beverage vendors and partners.
  • Help to source and manage local greening crews in each location.
  • Report metrics and waste diversion numbers post event where possible.
  • Support Event and Operations Managers on-site, when necessary.

About You

  • Experience greening at outdoor festivals and events.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with a strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, rain or shine.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Valid drivers license and passport.
  • Proximity to a major airport.
